DAY ONE IN ROME: WHEN IN ROME…WEAR GLADIATOR SANDALS!

Travel

Hey Afaconados!

After stuffing our faces in Madrid, my bestie and I took it on over to Rome, Italy. I don’t think either of us knew what we were in for when it came to all the walking we would have to do, but taxis cost quite a bit of money, and it makes no sense taking one when everything you need to see is within a few blocks of each other. That’s one of the good things about Rome, you can literally hit up all the main attractions in just two days…which was the duration of our time there. Now, the two GREATEST things about Rome are of course the Fashion…AND the FOOD! OMG the FOOD! Never in my life have I eaten so much Pizza, Pasta and Gelato (the best I’ve EVER had). And here again, I didn’t have to worry about the threat of gaining any weight because I would have walked several miles immediately after eating just one meal. Now I understand why Europeans are so freaking thin…they are CONSTANTLY walking!

After charting our course for the day, with one of our stops being a visit to the Colosseum, I opted to bring forth my inner ancient Roman by wearing some Gladiator Sandals. I also had this headwrap I had been wanting to wear for the longest time so I decided to incorporate that into my outfit as well. Once again, I knew we were in for a day of walking so I wanted to make sure I was comfortable. If I had to sum up our first day in Rome, I’d say it was a day full of exploring, laughing, jumping and EATING!

Here are the details of my outfit:

Tee: Boyfriend V-Neck Tee // $2 at Rag-O-Rama

Dress: Old Navy (super old…almost as old as Rome)

Shoes: Gladiator Sandals // Purchased at Urban Outfitters (old)

Headwrap: Purchased at Urban Outfitters

And here is my outfit:

The Colosseum was so unbelievably huge it took us about an hour and a half to go through it. Needless to say, after all the walking, stair climbing and picture taking, we were hungry…AGAIN. After having explored the Monumento Nazionale A Vittorio Emanuele II and the Colosseum that day, we went to grab a bite of Pizza! Or should I say one whole pizza for each of us. LOL! Stay tuned tomorrow for more of my Roman holiday!

Until next time!
