Hey Afaconados!
While my very first objective for my trip to Bali was to pack light, squeezing everything I needed into one 21′ inch carry on, I was equally concerned with dressing comfortably for the long flights (Yes I said flights…plural). Since there are no direct flights to Indonesia, if you ever plan to go there, please be aware of what you’re in for…multiple flights and travel that lasts at least 1-2 days. Lucky for me, I was traveling with two girls that have been my best friends for some years now and we have traveled all over together…I can’t stress how important it is to travel with people you get along well with.
I was quite surprised to find out that what I thought was limited space in my carry on, turned out to not be. With this vacation taking place in May, a season of warmth in most places, the clothing I packed was very light and didn’t take up much space.
This is all I took with me for the entire trip:
With packing out of the way…What to wear for such long travel? Taking into consideration the fact that I’d be in a confined space for a long period of time and sleeping on and off for hours on end, I wanted to make sure I wore something I wouldn’t regret having worn later.
Here is what I selected:
I wore a loose fitting, long tunic because it was comfortable, soft and light, complete with soft leggings. I chose to wear a long scarf because it could be used as a wrap in case it got chilly. I wore my TOMS because they are simply the most comfortable, easy to wear shoes on the planet! My hat was added for a little fashion flair…AND because it’s my lucky hat which I never fly without
The key to being comfortable for a long flight is simple…it’s all about comfort. Given the hours of travel and sitting that you’re most likely in for, it’s important to make sure you elect to wear something light and breathable. My friends and I got really lucky and ended up in first class which was an amazing experience.
It’s not even fair to be this comfortable on a flight:
Absolute comfort! Until next time!
