It’s been a while since my last post but I’m happy to finally be getting back to some normalcy after my move to New Jersey. Although the view outside my window (which is MARVELOUS, by the way) has changed, one thing that hasn’t, is working from home. It seems to have become the new normal. Maybe not so much for me since I’ve been working from home for years, but for a lot of others. My question is…what does professional style look like at home? Surely most companies don’t expect us to put on a full suit just to join a Zoom call or Webex, right? My goal for this post is to share my thoughts on what kinds of pieces will help you put your best foot forward when working from home.
The most important thing to know about working from home is that you have to be in the right mindset first. Being professional in the same place where you lay your head at night doesn’t always make for a productive day. Aside from that, your wardrobe has more to do with your professionalism than you probably think. I don’t know about you, but when I put on loungewear in the house, it means I plan to be comfortable. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that comfort and work don’t necessarily mix. LOL! I think sometimes we take for granted how good it feels to get up in the morning and actually get dressed. As someone who has worked from home for a long time, I can honestly say that I miss that part of going into an office.
This is where cabi Clothing comes in. One of my favorite things about cabi (and there are so many reasons why I love them) is that they always offer pieces that are comfortable, functional, and most importantly, professional. Nothing beats wearing a soft chambray shirt because they’re so versatile. You can dress them up or down, and you can wear them with skirts, pants, or jeans. Cabi’s Rebel Shirt fits perfectly and pairs so well with their Lanky Legging! I definitely wouldn’t mind showing up to a virtual meeting wearing this outfit!
When it comes to dressing professional while at home, stay away from things like sweatshirts and tank tops. Instead, try collared shirts like my chambray top, or round collared tops that have sleeves.
I think it’s safe to say that cabi has you covered when it comes to the home office! Each one of these pieces is professional-looking and you’ll even get points for style!
